Treasures and Gems From the Quran & Hadith
Treasures and Gems From the Quran & Hadith
One of the greatest blessings that Allah has bestowed upon His creation, after granting them existence, is the ability, opportunity, and permission to communicate and connect with Him directly. Earthly kings or authorities must be petitioned or solicited through intermediaries and various other channels in order to simply gain their attention, let alone receive a response. Our Most Merciful and Gracious Allah, however, is so benevolent that He readily hears and immediately responds to the supplications and calls of His weak and feeble slaves. From this we come to know that supplication and prayer was one of their main acts of devotion, and in this they were an example for all of mankind. The best of all these examplars of Divine adoration, and the most reverent of Allah’s devotees and slaves, was – undoubtedly – our Master Muḥammad (peace and blessings be upon him), the Chosen and Beloved of Allah. In his twenty-three years of prophethood, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him, uttered such words of devotion and adoration for his Lord and Cherisher that one can easily say—none before him, nor after him could ever worship Allah in the way the Most Beloved of Allah, Muḥammad (peace and blessings be upon him) worshiped Him. If we study and contemplate over the supplications and intimate conversations he had with his Lord, we will come to the conclusion that these supplications and utterances in and of themselves are a proof of his prophethood and veracity. The honorable Shaykh, Hazrat Mawlana Hakeem Muhammad Akthar (may Allah have mercy upon him) used to mention: “The words of the Prophet are in itself a proof of prophethood.” Volumes have been compiled recording these beautiful recording these beautiful prophetic prayers and supplications. The Messenger’s treasures and gems are an invaluable gift from the Divine, especially in the turbulent times and unstable circumstances we live in.
